Posted on: 02.09.2024
Join us on Sunday 15th September 11am-2pm on Middlesex Street for a celebration of all things Petticoat Lane!
Located up and down the iconic Sunday Market, visitors will find a mix of fantastic free events and pop-up performances to get involved in. Immerse yourself in a true East End experience this September.
Live Music!
Spend your Sunday exploring the market and listening to the sounds of some incredible artists. We kick things off with ZEMPHY, a London-based performer who will be wowing the crowds with her vocals and guitar playing. With a residency at the Amazing Grace Bar in London, ZEMPHY is a singer in high demand! And just in case that’s not enough for you, you’ll also be treated to a performance from Ocean, another brilliant London-based singer-songwriter who has been performing across the capital for over 10 years. Originally from The Netherlands, Ocean brings a fantastic blend of soul and pop music to the streets of Petticoat Lane.
Street Performers
Ian Marchant – The Gentleman Juggler. Ian is an East Londoner through and through having grown up in Poplar, Tower Hamlets. He is a gentleman juggler, an art form that traces its roots back to the early 1900s. This unique style of juggling utilises everyday objects like hats, walking sticks, crockery, and spoons to create astonishing feats and mesmerising turns. With his skillful manipulation of these items, Mr. Marchant captivates audiences with his performances.
Dubafrique is an unforgettable immersive experience, consisting of music, acrobatics, dance, and so much more! Dressed in West African prints – an echo to the stunning textiles found on Petticoat Lane – this will be a truly memorable street performance. Keep an eye out for the stilt walkers as they tower over the market!
Dr Mimefulness will be entertaining the Sunday crowds through the art of mime. This captivating show merges body language, facial expression, and some stunning outfits to bring joy and laughter to the streets. Make sure to head down and enjoy this interactive performance.
